Georgia’s December 2023 Update

Season’s Greetings!

Well, friends, another year has come and gone…and what a year it’s been! Like all of you I’m sure, there have been some real ups and downs in 2023 – tons of positives, a little uncertainty, and lots to take away moving into the new year.

But before we get into what’s to come, I want to sincerely thank you all for your continuous support with my art, my small business and my passion. Whether you’ve taken my classes, purchased any of my work, attended any of my shows or just followed my journey and connected with me in some way this past year, I appreciate you so much. I could not do what I do every day without all of you so your support really does mean the world to me. Thank you.

On that note – many of you are aware that at some point next year I’ll be relocating to a new home and studio. The question remains – when and where?? And your guess is as good as mine! At the moment there’s definitely some uncertainty there but I hope to have some answers for you soon.

The good news is I get to stay put for now so all my art classes will continue as planned starting in January! This means I am still taking on students – both returning and new – and looking forward to starting some creative projects with everyone. My class schedule will be up on my website here shortly so stay tuned. In the meantime, reach out if you’d like to register or have any questions – GeorgiaYoungs@shaw.ca

A couple other things I’m hoping you’ll be just as excited about as I am…

I’ll be hosting an in-person workshop for Opus Art Supplies at their Granville Island location on February 4th, with the topic centred around: Breaking into the Business of Art as an Emerging Artist (regardless of your age).

Details for this event will be coming shortly and posted on Opus’ website soon! Really looking forward to this one and very excited to share some really great info with both seasoned and newer artists, all based on my own personal and professional experience as a female artist of 50 years. Spread the word and let any fellow artists know who might be interested in discussing:

-Creativity – can it be learned or is it innate?
-Flexibility – the necessity of moving around
-Personality tests and he reason to take one
-Finding your call, and how this ties into creativity
-Considerations to successfully market yourself
-Gallery representation – do you need it?
…and lots more (yes we will be covering a LOT!)

It will be a great workshop and conversation with likeminded, passionate artists and I am so excited to be leading this! Look out for more info…

And last but not least…

NEW PRODUCTS LAUNCHING IN 2024!! Yes I am in the very early stages of the testing phase for this but I am SO excited to see my paintings come to life off canvas and onto different platforms and items. This is all very new to me so it may take time to get this off the ground but hoping for a couple of items to be available within the first quarter of 2024.

Check out these photos for a couple things in the works, and please reach out if you have any suggestions or feedback for me as I work to get these right:

My tulips painting on a journal cover.

My pink roses painting on tea towels.

As always, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me if there’s anything you’d like to discuss – classes, purchases, general art inquiries, feedback… I’d love to hear from you and I hope to stay connected with you all next year, and for years to come!

Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones, and wishing you the best in 2024
